Reported 8 months ago

Under the influence of climate change and urban heat island effect, northern Taiwan has been getting hotter in recent years, with some areas even experiencing higher temperatures than the southern regions. However, based on data from the Central Weather Bureau over the past 30 years, the hottest city in all of Taiwan is 'Tainan,' where over half of the days in a year have temperatures exceeding 30 degrees. Due to climate change and the urban heat island effect, temperatures are continuously rising across Taiwan, with cities like Taipei, New Taipei, Keelung, and Taoyuan becoming heat warning areas. According to the weather station 'Tu Di,' in the same 30-year statistics, Tainan ranks first nationwide with an average of 186 days per year with temperatures over 30 degrees, followed by Kaohsiung with 174 days, Chiayi with 173 days, Taichung with 171 days, Hengchun with 169 days, Taitung with 150 days, and Taipei with 146 days. It is evident that the hottest cities are concentrated in the central and southern regions of Taiwan.
