One family of five in a 7-floor residential building in Tucheng, New Taipei City, experienced a tragic fire incident early in the morning, resulting in the death of a male in his 20s burnt to death, a mother and daughter (in their 50s and 20s) who were brought to the hospital with no signs of life and declared dead later. The fire started from the living room on the 4th floor due to a suspected explosion of a lithium battery used for gardening, causing the father and two daughters to have little time to escape. New Taipei City Mayor Hau Lung-bin arrived at the scene to offer condolences and fire investigators are working to determine the exact cause of the incident.
