Household Mortgage Terms Exceed 300 Months for Two Consecutive Quarters; Loan Period Extended by 6 Years over Past Decade

According to the latest statistics from the Credit Information Center, for the last two quarters of last year, the average loan term for mortgage holders has once again exceeded 300 months, reaching an average of 304 periods. This indicates that the average mortgage term for Taiwanese has exceeded 25 years, with the loan period increasing by 70 periods in the past decade, extending the average loan term by nearly 6 years. Different regions show variations in average loan periods, with Hsinchu City having the longest at 331 periods and Taipei City the shortest at 290 periods, reflecting the impact of high real estate prices on loan period extensions.
