The Consumer Protection Committee of the Executive Yuan in Taiwan discovered that four out of 24 tested household rubber and plastic gloves contained excessive plasticizers, prompting manufacturers to issue a recall. Concerns were raised about the health risks associated with the use of heavy metals and plasticizers in the gloves, with warnings about potential disruptions to endocrine balance and functions. The Ministry of Economic Affairs Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection mandated the recall under the Consumer Protection Act, also addressing labeling discrepancies in the affected products.
