NBA legend Jerry West, also known as 'Mr. Clutch,' passed away at the age of 86 but lives on through the iconic silhouette that serves as the NBA logo. Designed by Alan Siegel in 1969, the logo features a player dribbling a basketball in motion surrounded by red and blue color blocks. Despite initial hesitance, West eventually confirmed in 2017 on ESPN that he is indeed the player depicted in the logo, though he expressed a desire for it to be changed, citing his preference to avoid drawing attention to himself.
