How TSMC's German Factory Attracts Workers? German Expert Says 'Salary is Key': Must Learn Work-Life Balance

Reported 11 months ago

In order to attract local workers to TSMC's factory in Germany, it all depends on the conditions provided by TSMC. Shortage of skilled labor in the semiconductor industry has led to collaborations between local universities and Taiwan University, where students come to Taiwan for a semester and intern at TSMC during the summer. The key factors for TSMC to attract workers, according to Fraunhofer IIS Executive Director Albert Heuberger, include competitive salary and achieving a balance between work and personal life. With TSMC's establishment in Dresden, Germany, the executive believes it will push for higher wages, emphasizing the need for technical elites to operate such complex infrastructure.
