HP Continues $4 Billion Legal Battle with Mike Lynch's Estate

Reported about 1 month ago

Hewlett Packard announced its decision to proceed with legal actions seeking up to $4 billion in damages from the estate of British billionaire Mike Lynch in the UK. This lawsuit stems from HP's acquisition of the tech company Autonomy, where Lynch is accused of committing fraud to artificially inflate the company's value. HP's interest in the case persists despite Lynch's death in August 2023. The company intends to see the litigation through to its conclusion, having previously secured a civil victory against Lynch in 2022, although the awarded damages may not reach the initially sought $5 billion.
