Hsinchu City Councilor Liu Kang-yan expressed concerns on June 19 that crucial soil samples from the Hsinchu baseball field may have gone missing. He revealed that the city government admitted the soil samples were not sent to the United States for testing as claimed, and now their whereabouts are unknown. Liu demanded the resignation of the Director of Public Works and an apology from the Mayor to uphold political responsibility, amidst the ongoing controversy surrounding the baseball field's renovation quality issues and player injuries dating back to 2022.
