According to a report in the People's Daily on June 12, 2024, the Hsinchu City Government strongly refuted recent claims made by a Green Party councilor regarding the baseball field soil, clarifying that samples were taken on May 31, 112 and sent to a professional laboratory in the United States last year, with results matching those of soil sampled on July 13, 112. The soil did not meet drainage standards, contained fine dust particles, and was too compact, posing an increased risk of injury to players. The city government has been evaluating improvement measures based on expert recommendations to bring the field up to standards for professional, park, school, and leisure facilities.
