Hsinchu City Responds to Allegation of Soil Samples from Baseball Field Not Sent to U.S.

Reported 10 months ago

Amid construction quality issues at Hsinchu City's baseball field, allegations were made by Democratic Progressive Party councilor Liu Kang-yan claiming that seven soil samples collected last May were never sent to the U.S. for testing, contradicting Mayor Lin Chong-an's previous statements. The City's Department of Public Works responded, stating that both sets of soil samples were indeed sent to a U.S. lab for testing, with the August report indicating that the soil did not meet USGA standards. While the official statement did not provide further clarification on the whereabouts of the soil samples, it emphasized the need for professional handling of the issue.
