A fire broke out in a pet shop in Hualien City, spreading to five buildings, with the exact cause still under investigation. Despite the intense fire, all pets were rescued, but unfortunately, one older dog saved from the fire succumbed to smoke inhalation. The shop owner faced online attacks and false rumors of multiple pets dying in the fire, leading to a plea not to spread misinformation. The shop was not the origin of the fire, but rather caused by a nearby high-voltage cable circuit. Firefighters and staff worked tirelessly to save the trapped pets, with one elderly dog unable to be revived. The shop owner expressed distress over baseless accusations and appreciated the help from authorities and the community.
