Hualien Post-Earthquake Reconstruction: 9 Taroko National Park Attractions to Aim to Reopen by Year End

Reported 7 months ago

The National Park Administration of the Ministry of the Interior established a special task force post-Hualien earthquake to investigate the damage to the Taroko National Park’s attractions and trails, opting to start repairs from areas with lighter damage and relatively higher safety levels. The plan is to first rehabilitate 9 mildly damaged and relatively safe trails and attractions in July, with the hope of gradually reopening them by the end of the year. While some severely damaged trails and attractions like Swallow Grotto Trail and Shakadang Trail may take longer to recover due to various factors including unstable weather and aftershocks, the primary focus is on swift and efficient restoration efforts.
