Following the severe impact of the 2024 Hualien earthquake on the local industry, the Agriculture Department introduced 'agricultural vouchers' to boost the consumption of Hualien agricultural products. However, the system crashed on its first day, making it impossible to scan QR codes for coin redemption. Frustrated citizens criticized the malfunction, hindering transactions at agricultural sites. Despite adjustments, the system struggled due to overwhelming data exchange and internet traffic. The Department plans to distribute 700,000 vouchers valued at NT$250 each until October 31, aiming to promote the consumption of local products and experiences.
