The Ministry of Labor in Taiwan announced a new round of reduced workweek cases, affecting 262 businesses and 5,338 individuals, a decrease of 1 business but an increase of 153 individuals compared to the previous round. Due to the impact of the strong earthquake in April, the number of employees on unpaid leave has risen, especially in the Hualien region affecting accommodation, catering, transportation, and arts & entertainment sectors, with a total of 300 individuals reported. The Ministry is implementing programs to stabilize employment and encourage training for affected workers without layoffs.
