Preparing for the 2024 Nine-in-One local elections, People's Party leader Huang Kuo-chang has been actively strategizing in New Taipei City. Amid recent discussions, Kuomintang councilor Lee Ming-hsien revealed on a political talk show that Huang once asked him in the restroom if the KMT would be willing to yield. However, the next day when the two appeared together on camera, Huang clarified that he was merely suggesting that if the KMT wanted to discuss integration, they should consider a public poll instead, downplaying any intentions of yielding or collaboration.
