The Presidential Office stated that no action should be taken before the Constitutional Interpretation results are out. After the KMT and MPP passed the Legislative Power Execution Act, several constitutional institutions requested a constitutional interpretation. The MPP Legislative Yuan caucus convenor Huang Kuo-Chang announced that the caucus will propose President Lai Ching-te to deliver the State of the Nation Address at the Legislative Yuan on July 12. Huang emphasized the obligation under the Constitution Amendment and the Legislative Power Execution Act for Lai to accept legislators' interrogation. The Presidential Office spokesperson urged all constitutional institutions to respect the seriousness of the constitution and await the Constitutional Court's ruling before taking any action. President Lai had submitted a petition for a constitutional interpretation to the Judicial Yuan due to concerns over the legislative process's constitutional controversy. Thus, awaiting the court's decision is advised.
