Premier Su Tseng-chang and Minister of the Interior Liu Shifang attended the general inquiry session in the Legislative Yuan on June 25, 2024. During the session, MP Huang Shanshan of the People's Party mentioned issues in the domestic rental market and asked Minister Liu Shifang if she supported real-time rental registration. Minister Liu responded that real-time registration is part of information transparency, but there must be a legal basis and information cannot be disclosed arbitrarily. Huang pointed out various challenges faced by renters and emphasized the need for transparency in the rental market. Minister Liu mentioned the importance of legal compliance in information disclosure to prevent violations of laws such as the Government Information Disclosure Law or the Personal Data Protection Law. Huang urged the Ministry of the Interior to provide a written response within one month on the matter. Additionally, Huang raised concerns about the surge in property transactions in May and questioned the coordination between rental subsidy recipients and new youth housing loans. Minister Liu acknowledged the need for better coordination to ensure compliance with housing programs.
