Keelung Mayor Xie Guoliang is deeply embroiled in a recall storm, with the second stage of the recall petition having passed the threshold and the substantial vote expected in mid-September. Media veteran Huang Weihan revealed key data on the recall votes, analyzing the likelihood of a successful recall. Huang pointed out that it would take about 76,000 affirmative votes to successfully recall Xie Guoliang, who received 96,000 votes in the mayoral election, making the threshold seem lower compared to recent DPP election results in Keelung. However, Huang believes that the low voter turnout and the formation of a 'Support Guoliang Group' by the Kuomintang could make it difficult to reach the recall threshold.
