Huawei has acquired the iconic Wengpin Hotel in Kaohsiung for 288 million and plans to transform it into a new 15-story hotel. The buyer, Huawei Cinema Co., will invest over 1.5 billion in the project, creating 200 rooms. With the booming tourism opportunities in Kaohsiung's Pier-2 Art Center area, the future looks promising for the development of old hotels like the Wengpin Hotel, which enjoy advantages such as large areas, prime locations, and potential for high-density commercial use. The area's property prices are soaring, and the prospect for revitalizing old hotels in the region is high.
