Global foldable smartphone shipments in the first quarter of 2024 increased by 49%, with Huawei claiming the top spot for the first time with a 35% market share, surpassing long-time leader Samsung with 23%. Huawei's introduction of 5G support in their foldable phones led to a 257% year-on-year increase in shipments. Honor also saw significant growth in overseas markets, while Motorola's market share rose to 11%. Huawei's focus on high-end foldable devices and the success of models like the Mate X5 and Pocket 2 contributed to their market dominance.
