Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. underwent a business change where the registered capital increased from 407.41 billion yuan to 408.41 billion yuan (approximately 183 billion New Taiwan dollars), with no explanation provided for the capital increase's purpose. Huawei has been increasing its capital every six months to a year, with each increase around 1 billion yuan, and this recent capital increase occurred in July 2023 when the registered capital went from 405.41 billion yuan to 406.41 billion yuan. Huawei was first blacklisted by the U.S. in 2019, but it is unclear if these changes are related. Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. was established in September 1987 and is wholly owned by Huawei Investment Holdings Limited. In August 2023, Huawei Investment Holdings Limited also saw an increase in registered capital from 446.92 billion yuan to 513.96 billion yuan. The company was founded in March 2003, with Ren Zhengfei, the founder of Huawei, as a co-shareholder.
