A man surnamed Tsai from Taichung wanted to accompany his Indonesian wife, surnamed Hua, back to her hometown and took out a 20 million travel insurance for her. Unfortunately, four days before Hua returned to Indonesia, she was found dead in a water well behind their house. Tsai applied for compensation from Sun Life, but they refused citing Hua's possible death from a heart attack or suicide. The court ruled the death as accidental and ordered Sun Life to pay 20 million to Tsai and his family, with the case still open for appeal.
