On July 3, 2024, Korean entertainment company HYBE and Geffen Records debuted the girl group KATSEYE after selecting 6 members from 120,000 applicants through the reality show 'The Debut: Dream Academy.' The group comprises members with diverse backgrounds like Venezuelan-Cuban heritage, Indian descent, and Chinese ethnicity, among others, making it the first global girl group formed using K-POP training methods. Their debut single 'Debut' has rapidly gained popularity with over 2.6 million views within 5 days, and they are set to release their first EP 'SIS (Soft Is Strong)' on August 16, along with a Netflix series documenting their training process.
