Employees at the Keelung Carrefour complained about the extreme heat in the underground food court, where they suffer from dizziness and heat stroke daily while the supervisors enjoy air conditioning in the office. The Keelung City Government has sent occupational safety counselors to investigate and advised improvements. The employees have been facing issues for at least two years but have received excuses like 'repair costs millions and cannot be fixed so quickly.' If the situation does not improve, the case will be transferred to the North Region Occupational Safety and Health Administration. The employees have also raised concerns about bad odors in the restroom affecting business and the uncomfortable working environment at the public place where air conditioning goes unused despite being repaired. The actual temperature measured onsite exceeded 30 degrees Celsius, causing discomfort among staff and customers.
