Ian McKellen Falls off Stage During Theater Performance and Sent to Hospital at 85

Reported 8 months ago

During a performance of the play 'Player Kings' in London, 85-year-old actor Ian McKellen fell off the stage while portraying a dispute scene, leading to him being taken to the hospital. The incident occurred during a new production based on Shakespeare's 'Henry IV.' After receiving medical attention, McKellen is expected to recover soon, and the theater has canceled the next performance to allow him to rest. The audience and medical staff present showed support, with the theater ensuring refunds for affected ticket holders. McKellen, known for roles in 'X-Men' and 'The Lord of the Rings' series, remains open to future acting opportunities but stated no plans have been made yet. This is not the first time McKellen has been injured during a stage performance, as he previously had to sit down for impromptu interviews after injuring his leg while rushing for a train five years ago.
