An Idaho bar, The Old State Saloon in Eagle, sparked controversy by celebrating ‘Heterosexual Awesomeness Month’ as a response to LGBTQ Pride month in June. The bar offered promotions like free draft beers for heterosexual men and discounts for heterosexual couples. The bar owner, Mark Fitzpatrick, explained the event was based on his Christian beliefs and received both support and criticism. This celebration is one of various incidents indicating a growing backlash against LGBTQ communities during Pride month, including incidents of vandalism and theft of Pride symbols in different states.
