On June 8th, Ilhaan County in Taiwan responded to National Ocean Day by organizing an ocean waste cleanup operation in the Su'ao Township. The event aimed to promote and raise awareness of marine conservation among residents, with activities including the recruitment of environmental fleet and submarine commanders to clean up underwater waste. Ilhaan County Governor Lin Zi-Miao participated in the event, launching the marine cleanup, certifying 30 diving trainees and local submarine commanders cleaning underwater waste, while 30 environmental fleet boats worked to collect drifting debris on the surface. The activity emphasized the importance of protecting the oceans, with Governor Lin expressing gratitude to participants and promising continued efforts in marine conservation to protect the beautiful blue homeland.
