In the early morning of June 25, 2024, a 26-year-old man surnamed Lin was found illegally parked in New Taipei City's Fuguo Road. When approached by patrolling officers, Lin became aggressive, threatening and pushing the police. Upon inspection, a machete was found in the car, along with a modified gun and ammunition. Despite claiming to be waiting for his girlfriend and having purchased the weapons for self-defense online, Lin was apprehended by the police and will face charges related to weapon possession and disturbance of public order.
