The Changhua Anti-Smuggling Team intercepted a major case involving the illegal import of poultry vaccines, with the mastermind 'Xiao Li' and their network purchasing prohibited drugs from mainland China via air transport to Taiwan, then reselling to poultry farmers in Yunlin, Chiayi, and Tainan, amounting to an estimated market value of 2.24 million NT. The investigation revealed that the vaccines were fake or of low quality, posing a serious threat to the livestock industry if they had entered the market. Investigations are ongoing, and those involved may face up to 7 years in prison and a fine of 4.5 million NT under the Animal Drugs Management Act.
