In preparation for graduation season, the Immigration Office's Northern District Division in Taoyuan City conducted a legal education seminar at National Central University to inform nearly 60 foreign students about the revised regulations on entry, departure, immigration law, and post-graduation residency rights in Taiwan. The office emphasized important aspects of living in Taiwan for foreign students to have a better understanding of their residency rights in the country, including the extension of residency permits for foreign students from 1 to 3 years under the new immigration laws effective this year. The office also reminded students about the risks of scams, advised against receiving pork products due to the African swine fever epidemic, and highlighted the penalty increase for overstaying in Taiwan. The director of the Taoyuan Service Station, Huang Yinggui, urged foreign students to be proactive in extending their residency permits to avoid hefty fines or restrictions.
