In response to the impact of declining birthrate, Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages has decided to merge the Bachelor's programs of the Chinese Department's Literature Group and Literary Arts Group starting from the 114th academic year, leading to protests from both teachers and students. The decision aims to address the declining enrollment environment by combining the two groups and integrating AI into the curriculum, while keeping the unique features of both programs and adding courses in creative cultural industries and Chinese language. Additionally, a new program called 'Literary Arts Creation Degree Program' will be planned for the 114th academic year, reflecting the university's efforts to adapt to the trend of interdisciplinary learning amidst declining birth rates.
