Imported Infusion Bags Exceed 2 Million, 'Big Packaging Solution in July' - TFDA Reveals '1 Reason' for Low Manufacturer Willingness

Reported 12 months ago

The shortage of large infusion bags has caused inconvenience in some hospitals. Due to a factory in New Taipei City failing to meet PIC/S GMP standards, domestic infusion supply was disrupted. The Taiwan Food and Drug Administration announced the arrival of 907,000 bottles/bags this week, totaling 2.15 million bags through special imports. In response to concerns from the medical sector, TFDA revealed that starting in July, domestic production of 1000cc large infusion bags will gradually resume. The shortage issue was attributed to two reasons: inventory and production costs, with ongoing efforts to address the situation and expand supply.
