Jjuhn Tofu, a chain of Korean restaurants, announced a shortage of raw materials for Korean kimchi, leading to the temporary suspension of 7 kimchi-related items, with regular kimchi being replaced by substitute ingredients temporarily due to the shortage of imported seasonings, particularly chili powder, attributed to stricter checks on imports after the Sudan Red incident. It is expected to take 1 to 2 weeks to resume supply. Other Korean cuisine businesses face similar shortages, with efforts to comply with regulations and minimize impacts on consumers.
