In July 2024, 16-year-old Phu, a teenager from Buriram, Thailand, regretted getting a face tattoo for 500 Thai baht (about 442 New Taiwan dollars) two years ago due to peer pressure, causing him difficulties in life like discrimination, unemployment, and inability to get a girlfriend. A clinic in Bangkok recently offered to remove the tattoo for free, giving him hope for the future. Phu plans to focus on studying and finding a job from now on, although he will need 8 sessions of laser treatment for complete removal, lasting at least 8 months, with financial challenges ahead.
