The relationship between the ruling and opposition parties continues to deteriorate, with the DPP planning to initiate a recall battle to reclaim the position of the largest party in parliament. However, KMT legislators generally believe that despite the low recall threshold, the success rate of recalls is not high. They argue that the behavior of recall voting is similar to by-elections and unless the subject of the recall is highly controversial, it is challenging to convince voters to participate. If the Green Camp initiates a recall, the Blue Camp will inevitably counterattack, leading to a situation of uncertain outcome. KMT legislators are pushing for stricter recall thresholds by requiring recall votes to surpass the number of votes received in elections to ensure fairness.
