On June 24, 2024, MyGoPen reported a circulating image claiming that the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower aircraft carrier was damaged by Houthi rebels and had seemingly patched a large steel plate on its deck. However, further investigation revealed that the circled area in the image actually depicted the arresting gear on the deck, not a new steel plate, used to quickly stop landing aircraft. The original image from U.S. Defense Visual Information Distribution Service showed no signs of damage, dispelling the misinformation about the vessel being attacked. The claims proved inaccurate, and the USS Eisenhower had not suffered damage as rumored.
