Recent years have shown an upward trend in cases of syphilis and gonorrhea internationally. Taiwan's Centers for Disease Control reported a 2% and 3% increase in the number of syphilis and gonorrhea infections, respectively, in 2023 compared to 2022. The 15-24 age group showed the most significant increase in both diseases. Notably, while females had lower infection numbers, their increase rates were higher compared to males. It's crucial to practice safe sex and seek timely medical attention for these curable but infectious diseases.
