India recently experienced monsoon rains bringing relief from extreme heat, with temperatures in New Delhi dropping from 52 degrees Celsius. However, the same monsoon rain caused rivers downstream in Bangladesh to flood, leading to significant flooding in some cities. Bangladesh is recognized as one of the countries most impacted by climate change, with sea levels rising annually by nearly 5 millimeters on average. Coastal areas in Bangladesh are eroding at a much faster rate due to global warming, displacing communities and impacting agriculture.
