An inspection by an Indian state government revealed that child laborers, some as young as 13, were working at a Som Group distillery in Madhya Pradesh, filling and packaging liquor bottles for 11-hour shifts. The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights found 58 children working illegally at the factory, leading to a police investigation. The state government suspended the distillery's licenses temporarily, but the company has challenged the decision, denying conclusive proof of wrongdoing.
