In India on July 6, 2024, a worker named Santosh Lohar was attacked by a snake while getting ready to sleep. Instead of seeking help immediately, Lohar bit back at the snake twice and used a stick to successfully kill it. Lohar credited his survival to the snake-killing wisdom passed down by village elders. The incident took place in Bihar, India, and Lohar recovered after receiving medical treatment. Although some believe the snake that bit Lohar was non-venomous, his retaliatory actions saved his life.
