Reported 6 months ago

APL Cargo Inc., an Indiana trucking company with 122 drivers and 142 power units, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana. The company, which hauls general freight, fresh produce, and meat, seeks to reorganize. The filing coincided with a Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing by Indy National Leasing, a truck leasing company with Stefan Trifan as the sole member. A former APL Cargo driver had previously filed a lawsuit alleging misclassification of drivers as independent contractors. APL Cargo lists its assets and liabilities between $1 million and $10 million, with the largest unsecured creditors being SOS Capital II LLC, Dynasty Capital, and JRG Funding.
