Indonesia's central bank decided to keep its benchmark interest rate unchanged for the second consecutive meeting in efforts to stabilize the rupiah amid domestic and foreign pressures. Governor Perry Warjiyo mentioned plans for interventions in various markets to manage volatility and attract foreign capital flows. These measures aim to return the rupiah to a stronger level below 16,000 against the dollar, with the possibility of monetary easing depending on global and domestic conditions.
