Indonesian immigration officials carried out a raid in Bali on June 28, 2024, arresting 103 foreigners for their involvement in online crimes and violations of immigration laws. The suspects, initially reported as 14 Taiwanese nationals, were later confirmed to all be Taiwanese, accused of visa and residency permit misuse and conducting online fraud targeting Malaysians in a villa on the vacation island. Indonesian authorities plan to deport the suspects soon, while Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs is working with Indonesian authorities to repatriate the Taiwanese nationals involved in the crime.
