Indonesian Authorities Arrest and Deport 103 Taiwanese Involved in Cyber Crimes

Reported 9 months ago

Indonesian officials have announced the arrest of 103 Taiwanese individuals involved in cyber crimes in Bali, with plans to deport them soon. The authorities identified the suspects as Taiwanese nationals and stated that they were targeting Malaysians in their illegal activities, making it difficult to prosecute them criminally in Indonesia. The suspects were found with hundreds of phones and electronic devices. Despite the arrests, the Indonesian authorities have determined that without Indonesian victims, it is challenging to pursue criminal charges and will instead deport the individuals for visa violations and illegal activities. The suspects, detained in Jimbaran, will be deported from Indonesia.
