IndyCar officials have outlawed the "Tail of the Dragon" maneuver at the Indianapolis 500, a move that brought racers dangerously close to disaster near the pit attenuator wall. Cars crossing the dashed white line from Turn 4 to the pit entry will now be penalized, with possible penalties including drive-through penalties or time penalties. The rule change was implemented ahead of the 108th Indianapolis 500, aiming to prevent potentially dangerous racing tactics like the zig-zag move used in previous races.
