In China, an infant had a 1.5 cm long needle catheter break off in their blood vessel during a medical procedure when they were just 5 months old, leaving a 10 cm scar on their head after unsuccessful attempts to remove it. The needle catheter drifted for over 5 years until its location was eventually found in the child's left facial gland and successfully removed through a 3-hour surgery at Beijing Children's Hospital. The hospital where the incident originally occurred has expressed willingness to assist in compensating for the situation through legal means.
