Infineon, a leading German global supplier of power systems and IoT semiconductors, announced the establishment of the 'Infineon Advanced Automotive and Wireless Communications Semiconductor R&D Center' in Taiwan to collaborate with local industry and academic partners in developing automotive-grade communication chips and innovative solutions. The total investment for the project is NT$1.2 billion, supported by Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs' A+ project, with an expected NT$2.7 billion investment from Infineon in Taiwan. It is projected to drive the domestic electric vehicle industry, generating a production value of NT$60 billion. The center aims to enhance Taiwan's influence in the semiconductor and automotive chip sectors globally.
