Infineon Technology, a German company, announced plans to invest NT$1.2 billion in upgrading its existing 'Wireless Communication Research Laboratory' in Taiwan to establish the 'Infineon Advanced Automotive and Wireless Communication Semiconductor R&D Center.' The investment aims to collaborate with local industry and academic partners in developing automotive-grade communication chips and innovative application solutions to meet the evolving trends in the global automotive industry, particularly focusing on Taiwan's strength in ICT. Supported by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the project is expected to boost Taiwan's automotive electronics industry output by NT$60 billion and enhance local companies' access to the international automotive market supply chain through advanced technological cooperation.
