The Consumer Price Index showed a slight cooling in May with a 3.3% annual increase before seasonal adjustment. Despite this, experts do not expect significant interest rate changes from the Federal Reserve's meeting, where it is anticipated they may project two interest rate cuts in 2024. The report highlighted a 5.4% yearly increase in shelter costs driving overall inflation. Other categories saw mixed monthly increases and declines, with the energy index down 2.0% monthly but up 3.7% annually.
