The university admissions results were released on June 13th, causing a mix of emotions among students. This year, there were 78,000 applicants for a total of 55,000 admission spots, with a 52.61% acceptance rate. The shortage of 11,000 students will continue preparing for the July admission process. Due to influences from Huang Renxun, AI, and the semiconductor industry, there is a noticeable trend of 'hot demand for science and engineering, cold for humanities and social sciences' in this year's admissions. National Taiwan University, National Cheng Kung University, National Tsing Hua University, and National Chiao Tung University all had admission rates above 80%. However, humanities-based National Chengchi University had a lower admission rate of 67.92% compared to 73.98% last year. The implementation of the Ministry of Education's 'Private University Tuition Reduction' policy has increased competition in private university admissions. While private universities in urban areas saw an increase in admission rates, public universities in remote areas experienced a decline. The declining birth rate and current industry trends are causing universities to put more effort into student recruitment.
